INFRASTRUCTURE
The following resources facilitate teaching-learning, co-curricular and
extra-curricular activities in tune with the vision and mission of SIU:
LIBRARY
The Symbiosis Law School, Pune library is enriched with a vast collection around
63041 books, 140 journals and 6845 e-journals, numerous other periodicals and
magazines. It provides a source for legal research for faculty
as well as the students. It also provides extensive technology based learning
resources with 17 legal databases including Manupatra, SCC Online Web-edition,
LexisNexis, Hein Online, Westlaw, JSTOR, EBSCO, Kluwer-Arbitration,
Patents and Competition, Legal Sutra, World News Paper, Cambridge Online Books, CLA,
Taxmann and Index to Legal Periodicals, LII Of India & Emerald.
RESEARCH & PUBLICATIONS
The institute strongly emphasizes research and publications through various research
projects and in-house journals, which are being published in collaboration with
LexisNexis. Students contribute significantly as authors
and editors. The faculty and students of SLS, Pune are involved in publication with
journals of national and international repute.
COMPUTER LAB
The Symbiosis Law School, Pune campus is Wi-Fi enabled. It has two ICT Resource
Centers (Computer Labs). The Labs are fully equipped latest computers, WiFi and
printing facility.
OTHER FACILITIES
SLS, Pune has state of the art facilitities including SCALSAR (Symbiosis Centre for
Advanced Legal Studies and Reseasrch Centre, consolidates PG Studies, Doctoral
Studies and Research Projects). It contains well-quipped
3 faculty rooms having separate cubicles, examination department, accounts
department, administrative department. All classrooms are equipped with LCD
projectors with internet and Wi-Fi services. SLS, Pune provides
a well-equipped, moot court hall, with the seating capacity of 200 and a
multi-purpose hall with a seating capacity of 200. It also provides a conference
room with the seating capacity of 50. Video conferencing facility
is available in all these rooms.
HEALTH SERVICES AND HEALTH INSURANCE
The Health Center provides all emergency health services and covers all students
under a unique and novel medical insurance scheme with a free and compulsory annual
health checkup. A well-equipped and modern gymnasium with
yoga hall is within the campus.
CANTEEN
The Multi-cuisine food court of the campus caters to a variety of preferences.
HOSTEL
Full hostel facility is for girls available on campus. However for the boys, beyond
limited facility, the institute facilitates information on the accommodation
available in nearby areas.

PLACEMENT
The Placement Cell organizes the placement training throughout the year and during
the programme a systematic profound development of every student is
ensured.The students are trained, groomed and chiseled
to be the best professional, with the combination of managerial and leadership
skills, and a broad range of professional skills such as legal reasoning skills,
advocacy and legal writing. The Cell also facilitates internship
opportunities for the students in Law firms and Corporate Houses. The Cell has
managed to place students substantially in placement opportunities from various
sectors including PSUs, Law Firms, Banking and Financial
Companies, LPOs, Judiciary and Insurance.
METHOD OF INSTRUCTION
The medium of instruction is English. The methods are essentially learner-centric,
which include lectures, the Socratic method, field visits, seminars, group
discussions, simulations, case studies, moot courts, mock trials
and ICT-enabled learning by international guest faculty and guest sessions by the
stalwarts in the field.

CAREER PROSPECTS
After initial assessment through elaborate psychometric tests, assessment and
screening process; the students get training, orientation and experiential learning
through systematic internships in industry, High Courts,
Supreme Court and Non-governmental organizations. A student can look forward to a
meaningful and rewarding career with various options such as Judiciary, Corporate
practice, Litigation, Law teaching, Legal Process Outsourcing,
and Administrative services.
ELIGIBILITY
QUALIFICATION :
The candidate should have passed XII (10+2) examination from any recognized Board
with a minimum of 45% marks (40% for S.C. /S.T. candidates). Students who have
appeared for their Standard XII final examination and are
awaiting results are also eligible to apply, subject to submission of passing
certificate at the time of the final admission.
INTAKE :
- The total intake is 300 seats [inclusive of 180 seats of BB.A. LL.B (Hons.)
and 120 seats of B.A. LL.B (Hons.)].
- Separate Merit Lists for BB.A. LL.B (Hons.) and B.A. LL.B (Hons.) programme
will be prepared and published. At the time of SLAT registration, it
shall be mandatory for the candidates to clearly indicate the programme
to which they wish to apply. A candidate is free to choose
BOTH or ANY ONE programme.
Note: It is suggested that the candidates who have studied
Arts/Social Sciences subjects for their qualifying examination may apply for B.A.
LL.B (Hons.) programme. Similarly, those candidates who have
studied Commerce/Accounts/Mathematics/Sciences may apply for BB.A LL.B (Hons.)
programme. Further, the candidates are also free to make their own choice of
selection of the programme depending on their ability, interest
and opportunity. Please note that these two programmes differ only in the First
Degree contents (either Humanities OR Business Studies), whereas the law courses are
offered in both the programmes are the same. Graduates
in both streams are eligible for diverse legal careers and opportunities in
Corporate, Litigation, Civil Services, Advocacy, Judiciary, Academics, jobs in
International Organizations, International Admissions and others.
