SET/ SITEEE 2025 - Eligibility & Admission Criteria for OTHER Category
Reservation Policy
As per the UGC guideline 2006, the reservation policy for all the institutes under the University is as follows:
- Within Sanctioned Intake -
- Scheduled Caste (SC) : 15 %
- Scheduled Tribes (ST) : 7.5 %
- Differently Abled # : 3 %
- Children/wards of Defence Personnel : 5 % for SICSR
- Over & Above Intake
- Kashmiri Migrants and Kashmiri Pandits/ Kashmiri Hindu Families (Non- Migrants) living in Kashmiri Valley : 2 seats per programme.
- International Candidates : a maximum of 25%.
Note:
- Candidates applying for any of the above-mentioned categories will be required to upload their relevant supporting documents at the time of registration and the same will be verified at the time of PI.
- Candidates applying under the category “Children/wards of Defence Personnel” in SICSR will be considered as candidates in OPEN Category for other institutes for which they have applied.
A. Reservation of seats for Nagpur Domicile (SCMS, Nagpur and SIT, Nagpur):
- 25% (Twenty-five percent) seats are reserved for candidates domiciled in Nagpur.
- Meaning of 'Nagpur Domiciled' Candidates for admission to UG programme only.
- Nagpur Domiciled' means candidates, who are domiciled in Nagpur for a period of 5(five) years as on the date of commencement of the academic year and who (a) are or will be graduates or students of Nagpur University, and/ or(b)are recipients of school certificates from the Maharashtra State Board of Secondary and Higher Secondary Education, the Council of Indian School Certificate Examinations, and/ or the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE)/ ICSE Board.
Analysis of the definition: While giving admission under the Nagpur domicile category-
1)Residence Criterion: Resident of Nagpur Urban (five continuous or intermittent years) is mandatory,
2)When you go further for the Educational Criterion: The candidate should fulfil one of the following criteria
(a) graduate or pursuing graduation from Nagpur University
- OR-
(b) school certificates (10th and 12th) from (i) Maharashtra Board, (ii) CISCE (iii) CBSE, (iv) ICSE (It simply means 10th and 12th passed certificates from other State Boards and foreign school boards are NOT accepted)
Please carry your following documents at the time of PI if shortlisted. Please note that if you do not have both these documents, you will not be allowed to appear for the PI process and will be marked as ineligible for admission. No communication will be entertained in this regard.
