Shortlisting and Selection Process

Shortlisting:

Candidates will be shortlisted for the Personal Interaction (PI) process based on their respective Entrance Test marks. Please check the respective institute website for information and dates of Personal Interaction (PI).

The further admission process is conducted separately for each programme by each Institute. The cut-off for shortlisting is also calculated separately for each programme. Based on her/his overall SET percentile, a particular candidate may get shortlisted for more than one programme. In such a scenario, the candidate is expected to participate in the PI for each programme separately.

Please note that institutes shortlist candidates who have appeared for the entrance test and paid for the programme for the subsequent process based on their own criteria, which may be independent of each other. The process may include any or all of the following: Writing Ability Test (WAT), Group Discussion (GD), Studio Test (ST) and Personal Interview (PI). Performance in SET/SITEEE is an important component in the admission process. Institutes may additionally use other factors, such as but not limited to the previous academic performance of the candidates, relevant work experience, gender and academic diversity and other similar inputs in their merit listing process. Weightages allocated to these parameters may vary across institutes/programmes.

Disclaimer: It is mandatory to attend all components/tests of Personal Interaction (PI) to be eligible for admission to any UG programmes. Only candidates who attend all components/tests of the selection process (Personal Interaction (PI) shall be considered as eligible for the generation of merit / wait/reject list.

Candidates who remain absent for any one of the component/tests will be considered ineligible for the selection process of UG degree programmes of SIU.
